Energa expands its installed renewable energy capacity by 43% in 2024, marking a pivotal shift in its energy portfolio. For the first time, the group's renewable capacity exceeded that of its conventional power sources.

By the end of 2024, Energa's installed renewable capacity reached 890 MW, outpacing the capacity of its fossil fuel-based plants. Renewable energy also accounted for 55% of Energa's total gross electricity production last year, an increase of 9 percentage points compared to 2023.

The most significant growth came from photovoltaics, which represented 39% of Energa's renewable capacity by year-end. Solar power generation across the group rose by 43% year-on-year. Overall, 53% of Energa's total installed capacity was sourced from renewables at the close of 2024, giving renewable energy a clear lead over coal and other conventional sources for the first time in the company's history.
