Romania advances green energy with EU funding

Green Forum
Romania's Ministry of Energy has secured significant progress in its green energy transition through the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

Six new contracts have been signed, totaling €33 million, to bolster battery storage capacity and establish a domestic photovoltaic panel manufacturing facility in Bârlad.

These initiatives aim to address Romania's energy storage needs and revitalize its industrial sector. With 13 projects approved and over €73 million in state aid allocated, the country is poised to significantly expand its renewable energy capacity.

Out of 118 submitted projects, 38 were approved, subject to budget availability, and 13 projects have already received pre-contractual notifications.
