In 2023, the "Romania plants for tomorrow" project will mainly focus on the creation of miniature urban forests. This concept was introduced in Romania by OMV Petrom and was successfully implemented in 5 localities: Moinești, Bucharest, Giurgiu, Buftea and Urziceni. The miniature urban forest has the role of improving air quality, reducing noise, increasing biodiversity and reducing the greenhouse effect.

At the same time, the plantings in the countryside will continue, in the areas that need intervention, with about 180,000 seedlings for extra-village plantings.

The afforestation actions are carried out with the support of six NGOs: Act for Tomorrow, Mai Mult Verde, Plantăm fapte bune in Romania, Pădurea Copiilor, Viitor Plus and the Văcărești Natural Park Association.

On July 29, 2020, OMV Petrom announced its support for the recommendations issued by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures regarding the risks and opportunities associated with climate change.
